All of the documentation for M5 Subscriber is provided through the Subscriber web service. To set up Subscriber with Mailer, simply enter your Subscriber username and password. Mailer will establish a secure connection to the Subscriber service. All of the fields you maintain in your subscriber database are available in Mailer just as with any other Mailer data source. Mailer and Subscriber also work together to provide other services, including tracking. Opening mail - for recipients who allow their email programs to display graphics, Subscriber can track who opens your message. Clickthrough tracking - you can see which recipients clicked on which links in your mailings. Filtering or conditioning based on past open/clickthrough campaigns - you can mail to just those who have not clicked through a specific link or who have not yet opened their mailing, or send different content to different recipients based on clickthrough behavior. The open-rate image embedded in the mailing, as well as the URL that visitors click on to detect clickthroughs, are all free of query string variables and tracked internally. All of these features are integrated into Mailer 4.5. There are commands under the Mail menu in Mailer for inserting open rate image or inserting a campaign clickthrough URL. |
