FastStats Reverse DNS Lookups

FastStats Analyzer uses reverse-DNS lookups to transform numerical IP addresses (like 206.102.200.1) to human-readable host names (like domain.com). By default FastStats Analyzer will only look up IP addresses that will appear in your final report. However, if you have any domain name filters enabled then FastStats Analyzer will perform Reverse DNS lookups on all of the IP addresses in your log files. This can significantly slow down the analysis process and is usually not necessary.

Because the number of domain names that appear in your reports is small, Analyzer always looks them all up for you.

It is possible to configure your web server to perform reverse-DNS lookups and store the result in the log file, but this can significantly slow the performance of your web server, since it will require this lookup on every web access.
